Green Tourism

Natural environments and tourist sites

The Aisne is fortunate to have a vast array of tourist sites, as well as natural environments that are still relatively untouched by human hands, just waiting for you to come and explore at your own pace.

At regular intervals in the forests and fields or on grassy  trails,  walking enthusiasts will discover snippets of history,  interesting  architecture, and hidden treasures.

Irrigated by a vast network of canals and rivers, the Aisne  can also be explored from the water's edge, in a barge, canoe or kitted out in waders for a spot of fly-fishing!

Local produce

The quality of the region's farmland is shown by its produce, nowhere better than at the local markets and organic markets,  which are the perfect place to taste confiture de lait (thick caramel sauce made from milk and sugar), "Folie  Douce" (fruity wine drunk as an aperitif), Maroilles cheese, cider and traditional dishes prepared using the famous haricots  de Soissons

francais

(large white beans)...

Or you may prefer to savour these delights at farm inns, where you'll be served traditional meals based on local recipes and farm produce.
