The I-Trans Competitive Cluster

A cluster created on the initiative of the Association Transports   Terrestres Promotion (TTP) [Association for the Promotion of  Terrestrial Transportation],  managed by the Conseil Régional (Regional  Council) for the Nord Pas de  Calais.

 

Designated an internationally  oriented competitive cluster by  the CIADT (French Interministerial  Committee for Regional Planning and  Development) on July 12th 2005.

 

Ambitions

  • Create the leading European competitive cluster for the design,  construction, competitive exploitation and maintenance of railway  equipment and systems.
  • Extend its expertise to all forms of innovative transportation  (river, maritime, automobile, logistical, intermodal and interoperable  transportation).

 

Strategic focuses

  • Establish itself as a European model for interoperability and intermodality.
  • Set up the largest European railway transportation testing centre for innovation.
  • Mobilise and consolidate expertise in the fields of safety and communication.
  • Develop advanced training courses with an international reputation.
  • Rise to the challenge of managing expert knowledge about railway  systems in the context of the profound changes that will take place in  the next ten years.
  • Develop the cluster's global presence via internationally important events in the region (fairs, conferences, etc.).

 

Partners at the regional level

The sector's key industrial players (Alsthom, Bombardier,  Arbel-Fauvet-Rail, etc.) and the entire research potential at the regional level.

Registration of a new project:

 

Conditions for membership of the TTP association:

  • Be a company or a research and/or training organisation.
  • Be located in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais or Picardy regions.
  • Contribute to industrial activity in the sectors concerned by the cluster or its research and/or advanced training activities.
  • Be prepared to play a full role in the cluster's innovation policy.
