Attracted by the generosity of the soils in the Aisne, industrial giants work alongside local farmers, offering delicious local produce. |
The Aisne features two Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) regions, in which products are certified to have been made in a given area following a stringent manufacturing process: one in the Thiérache bocage of the north for Maroilles, "the finest of all strong cheeses", and the other on the Marne hillsides of the south for
champagne.
Fine food prepared by exceptional chefs can also be savoured in the sumptuous settings of
numerous châteaux-hotels, or in restaurants belonging to some of France's most famous chefs.
